Like several other motifs in this collection, the inspiration for Empire was a Czech vase that founder Karen Feldman discovered in an antiques bazaar in southern Bohemia. Dating from the Beidermeir period of the early 1800s, it featured the strong geometric patterns typical of this era, which are reinterpreted by Feldman in this handsome motif.
